Long Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant

At the end of 2019-early 2020, FPL continuously signed 4 construction contracts for the project "South Vietnam Petrochemical Complex" (referred to as Long Son project), with 03 bidding packages: Package G, Package A1 – OLEFINS PLANT, Package A2 with a total contract value of more than 11.5 billion. This is the first fully integrated petrochemical complex in Vietnam with an olefin product capacity of up to 1.6 million tons/year and is designed to produce a wide range of petrochemical products, including Products are necessary raw materials for the plastic industry such as polyethylene, polypropylene and other products, with a capacity of more than 2 million tons/year. These products can help replace polyolefins that are currently imported.

“Construction of drilling and dropping combined with DTH rock dam, D500 pile leading drilling”, “Conducting drilling for D800 rock pile construction”, “Pile driving and drilling for PHC D400 and PHC D600” and “Construction of Drilling and dropping piles D600” are all important items that help FPL gather a lot of experience to apply in practice.

This is a project that will face a lot of difficulties due to the hard rock geology that cannot be drilled deep, making the short pile depth greatly affect the progress and quality of the work. To overcome this situation, the management board held a meeting with the project leader to ask for the best solution, which is to check the machinery and equipment and change the construction method. Hopefully this will be an idea to help FPL execute the Long Son project more smoothly.
